'Civil society' groups demand election govt headed by Chief Justice
Three 'civil society' groups have demanded an election government headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Issuing a joint press statement Wednesday, Nepal Nagarik Manch chairman Himalaya Shumsher Rana, Nagarik Samaj Nepal chairman Khem Raj Regmi and Madhesi Nagarik Samaj chairman Ganesh Kumar Mandal said that a government under the sitting CJ is necessary to resolve the current prolonged political stalemate.
They said they came up with this option in view of the failure of the political parties to find an outlet. Such a government should also include members of the political parties and it must hold the Constituent Assembly polls by mid-June, they said. nepalnews.com
