Flights disruption continues in far west district due to snowfall
All the flights to and from Surkhet have been halted for the last couple of days due to bad weather triggered by continuous snow fall, state-owned news agency RSS reported.
The flights have been disrupted in some districts of Bheri and Karnali zone, said the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, Surkhet Office sources.
Flights from Jumla, Humla, Mugu and Dolpa have been disrupted due to continuous snow fall and poor visibility for the past three days, said Sumat Chaudhary, Surkhet chief of Aviation Authority.
All the passengers here are compelled to stay in Surkhet due to disruption of flights. There were daily 60\70 regular flights from Surkhet to different parts of the country during normal weather.
The cancellation of flights each day caused a loss of Rs.600,000, said Shiv Ram Thapa, operation manager of Goma Air.
