Bankariya family to host PM Bhattarai tonight

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is staying overnight with a Bankariya family in Hadikhola in Makwanpur district on Friday.

Bhattarai, who is in the industrial town on Hetauda, Makwanpur, to attend his party UCPN (Maoist) general convention will be accompanied by a team of senior government officials.

During the trip, he will interact with the local people on their problems and development issues apart from inspecting the government offices, an aide to the Prime Minister said.

The Bankariya, one of the endangered ethnic groups of Nepal, have been living along the banks of the Hadikhola.

PM Bhattarai had announced few months earlier that he would spend a night at a remote village once a month to understand the day-to-day situation of rural Nepali households. Nepalnews.com
