CJ-led government one and only way out of crisis: Dahal

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the formation of a government under the leadership of the Chief Justice was the one and only way out of the current political stalemate.

The ruling party has run out of ideas to resolve the crisis, said Dahal adding that if the opposition does not back the proposal to form a government under the Chief Justice, the deadlock would have to be settled through agitations.

It would be unfortunate for the country if all parties take to the streets against one another, said Dahal talking to mediapersons in Hetauda.

“There is no other figure more independent and credible than the Chief Justice. Top leaders of the opposition have not come out against the proposal, so I hope that they will accept it,” he added.

Dahal had proposed CJ Khilraj Regmi as PM Baburam Bhattarai’s successor during the seventh national convention of his party, UCPN(M). Participants of the convention have also backed the idea. Nepalnews.com
