NEPSE drops by 2.34 pts; transaction amount up by 38 pc
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index plunged by 2.34 points to settle at 513.42 points last week.
The secondary market had plunged from Sunday’s 515.77 points to close at 513.42 points on Thursday, the last trading day, last week.
As per the sub-indices, commercial bank lost 3.16 points, manufacturing group 8.18 points, hotel 23.29 points, hydropower 12.99 points, finance 0.49 points and development bank 0.70 points.
However, other group, trading group and insurance were in positive zone as they increased by 2.35 points, 9.37 points and 3.39 points respectively.
Over the week, the stock market registered a turnover of Rs. 444.8 million trading 1568,213 unit shares through 5108 transaction with 120 companies.
The transaction amount has increased by 38.54 points as the market registered a turnover of Rs. 321 million the previous week.
Nepal Bangladesh Bank registered Rs. 137.47 million, Nabil Bank 22.98 million, Prabhu Finance Rs. 21.43 million, Everest Bank Rs. 19.91 million and Chilime Hydropower Company Rs. 19.18 million to stand as the top five companies to hold highest transactions. Nepalnews.com
