Opposition NC, UML to hold ‘decisive talks’ with UCPN (M) on govt formation, May election
Riled by ruling UCPN (Maoist) party’s absurd proposal to appoint incumbent Chief Justice as the head of the new election government while showing reluctance to leave the reins of power, opposition parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) have agreed to hold “decisive talks” with the ruling party on Monday to end the protracted political deadlock in the country.
The two opposition parties that spearheaded the recent anti-government protests for the ouster of PM Bhattarai reached to this agreement after concluding that the political parties must forge an understanding for a national unity government at the earliest to hold the Constituent Assembly election by May this year.
They also accused the ruling parties of dilly-dallying on formation of unity government and holding election to continue to remain in power. nepalnews.com
