Nuwakot locals agree to end bandh against 'police highhandedness'
The shutdown strike called by the locals of Trishuli in Nuwakot district in protest against the manhandling of a local resident has been withdrawn in the afternoon.
The locals agreed to withdraw the protest after the police officers apologised for the manhandling of Narendra Bahadur Joshi, a departmental store owner, in Trishuli. A patrolling police team had severely beaten him up after his dog scared them away, RSS said.
Irate locals started closing down shops and transportation services in Trishuli in the morning. Few other towns in the district like Bidur and Battar were also remained partially closed for hours. Nepalnews.com
