A meeting of major three parties held in the presence of President Ram Baran Yadav at Shitwal Niwas Monday evening ended inconclusively.
The UCPN (M) and the opposition Nepali Congress and UML reiterated their respective positions on the leadership of the election government. The leaders left Shital Niwas at 9:15 pm agreeing to resume the talks on Tuesday.
UCPN (M) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala and UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal were present in the meeting along with some senior leaders of their respective parties.
Earlier today, the UCPN (M), NC, UML and the Madhesi Front reached an understanding to hold the elections by the end of May. In the meeting, the NC and the UML also agreed to go for election government headed by a non-political person. nepalnews.com
