Campaign frees Banke's Jaispur from stranglehold of widespread drug abuse, smuggling
Banke's Jaispur, which was once recognized as a junction of drug addicts and a hub for drug smuggling, has now turned to be a model village, state-owned news agency reported.
The operation of innovative programmes in the village with the untiring efforts of different social organisations, police, administration and local people has not only made the village drug abuse free but also increased local people's involvement in social development efforts.
The drugs smuggling has come to an end completely with a drug abuse prevention campaign put in place in the village, Committee Chairperson Mustakim Ansari told RSS.
The strategic campaign initiated by the District Police Office after forming drug prevention committees comprising students and youths was proved to be an effective measure to check wrongdoings in village.
