UML says no to CJ-led govt
The CPN (UML) has rejected the proposal to form election government led by the sitting Chief Justice.
An informal meeting of the party's central committee Tuesday decided not to go for the CJ-led government, concluding that it would be against the norms of separation of power as well as the Interim Constitution.
At the meeting, party chairman Khanal briefed the CC members about the negotiations between the parties on the formation of the election government.
The UML decision comes in spite of reports that there was a tentative understanding between the parties in yesterday's meeting to form a government headed by CJ Khil Raj Regmi and that the only point of contention was whether to make him resign as CJ before he becomes the PM. Nepalnews.com
