President Yadav urges parties to reach deal at the earliest
President Ram Baran Yadav Tuesday asked the leaders of the major parties to reach consensus on the election government without further delay.
During a meeting with the leaders of the major parties at his office, Shital Niwas, in the evening, the President stressed that the parties must come to an agreement in order to hold the elections by the end of May.
The top leaders of the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML went to Shital Niwas to inform the President about the ongoing talks following a failed meeting held at NC president Sushil Koirala's Maharajgunj residence.
The parties had ended their meeting at Shital Niwas Monday evening claiming that they would arrive at a concrete agreement today. Nepalnews.com
