Farewell organised for 50 Israeli volunteers working in education, health sector

The Embassy of Israel bid farewell to 50 Israeli volunteers working in Nepal through Tevelb'tzedek, an Israeli NGO, on 12 February 2013.

Thanking the volunteers for their unselfish work here in Nepal, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, HananGoder-Goldberger said, "This magnificent activity is a symbol of the friendship between Nepalese and Israelis that are working together on the development and community project".

Each volunteer was presented with a Certificate and a Token of Appreciation.

The government officials, the people from business parties including the Israeli volunteers attended the event. Around one hundred guests were present during the event held at Israeli Ambassador's residence in Sitapaila. Dr.PrakashSharanMahat, Former Foreign Minister of Nepal and the leader of the Congress Party thanked the volunteers for their valuable contribution.

Every year around 50 Israeli volunteers travel to Nepal for an intensive four months program. While they live here in Nepal, they not only get involved in volunteering works but also learn Nepali language, Nepali society and culture.

The volunteers from Tevelb'Tzedek are involved in a variety of fields including education, health and agriculture or income generation in Kathmandu, Mahadevbesi and Sundarawoti.
