IMS Samsung launches first mobile insurance policy

International marketing Services Pvt. Ltd (IMS), the authorised distributor of Samsung mobile in Nepal has announced an insurance plan for its customers, naming it “IMS Mobile insurance” in coordination with Everest Insurance.

The agreement was signed between chairman of the IMS Deepak Malhotra and chief executive of Everest Insurance Kebal Krishna Shrestha amidst a function in capital on Thursday. The company also claimed that the insurance policy is first of its kind in Nepal.

Under the insurance plan, the first of its kind in mobile business, now, with the purchase of any Genuine IMS hologram marked Samsung Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II, buyers will receive an Insurance certificate which will cover the insurance of the mobile against any damage or physical hazard, said the IMS.

The company will issue an insurance policy document immediately to its customer without charging any premium on the purchase of Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II for the period of a year, according to IMS.

Similarly, the customers who have already purchased such mobiles can get their device insured after paying a premium of Rs. 1,000, said Malhotra.

On the occasion, Malhotra also informed that with the initiatives of IMS along with the coordination of Nepal Police and concerned authorities, the company has planned to start market monitoring to control the illegal business of mobile phones. Nepalnews.com
