'Bureaucrats will run ministries under CJ-led mechanism'

Finance Minister and UCPN (Maoist) leader Barsha Man Pun Friday said bureaucrats will run the day to day business at the ministries under the "election mechanism led by the Chief Justice".

Addressing a seminar of tax officials in Nepalgunj, Pun said the political parties won't join the government which will be either called "election mechanism" or "election council" and that the secretaries will oversee matters with the ministries.

"Bureaucracy will run the country. Parties will not join the government. They will simply go to the people," Pun said, mentioning that the Chief Justice-led election mechanism will have very limited executive power. According to him, the mechanism will take decisions on the recommendations of the parties. nepalnews.com
