Govt decides to provide Rs. 3 b for purchase of helicopters for army
The government has decided to provide Rs. 3 billion to the Nepal Army for the purchase of two MI-17 helicopters.
A meeting of the Council of Minister Friday approved the NA's request for fund for the purchase. According to government spokesperson and communication minister Raj Kishor Yadav, a committee has been formed to oversee the procedures to buy the choppers.
Meanwhile, the cabinet decided to distribute ID cards to the families of those killed and disappeared during the Maoist insurgency.
In another decision, the government appointed Mukesh Dahal as the consular general for Hong Kong. Likewise, the cabinet also decided to appoint Sunil Kumar Jha and Shiva Kumar Patel as the general managers of Hetauda Cement Factory and Udaypur Cement Factory respectively. Nepalnews.com
