NOC assures withdrawal of LPG price hike price
The Nepal Oil Corporation has assured to fix the price of the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) at Rs. 1,470 per cylinder.
Following the agreement between the corporation and 11 student unions on Friday, management of the state oil monopoly agreed not to implement the decision to hike the price by Rs. 630 per cylinder in cooking gas while students unions also agreed to call off their protest programmes.
Despite the Prime Minister saying that the decision has been withheld, citing lack of preparation in the implementation of dual pricing system of LPG, the student unions of opposition parties have been protesting demanding a formal withdrawal.
The NOC had increased the price of the cooking gas by a massive Rs. 630 per cylinder to Rs. 2,100 per cylinder along with offering Rs. 550 as subsidy per cylinder for household purposes on Tuesday. Nepalnews.com |
