Alternative to polythene bags launched

“Hamri Bahini Green Shopping Bags” as an alternative to polythene bags has been formally launched here in capital on Friday.

Minister for Environment Science and Technologies Keshav Man Shakya inaugurated Hamri Bahini - the green shopping bags initiative - amidst a programme at Bhatbhateni Suppermarkets.

The bags are available to the general public from all Bhatbhateni outlets at a 50 percent subisidised price of Rs. 30 from today itself.

Hamri Bahini- the Green Angels - is a Green social enterprise of Himalayan Climate Initiative that will create Respectable Green Jobs for disadvantaged young women of Nepal while addressing Kathmandu’s environmental problems through variety of schemes supported by private sector. Nepalnews.com
