As part of the movement, which started around 50 days ago in the wake of growing cases of violence against women, participants staged a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister's office.
They were demanding action against the murderers of Maina Sunuwar, who was allegedly tortured to death in Nepal Army’s Peace Operation Training centre, Panchkhal in Kavre, on February 17, 2004.
Participants of the movement were detained after they tried to enter the 'no-protest' zone, police said. Nepalnews.com |
