China proposes Wu Chuntai as new envoy to Nepal
The government of China has proposed Deputy Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the People's Republic of China, Wu Chuntai to the post of new ambassador of Nepal, state-owned news agency RSS reported Sunday.
Beijing proposed the new ambassador by recalling ambassador Yang Houlan before expiry of his three-year term.
The name will be presented at the office of the President this week for approval, Dr Niranjanman Singh Basnyat of the Department of Protocol told RSS.
A graduate, who joined Chinese Foreign Service 27 years ago, Ambassador Wu has already served in Turkey, UK and Northern Ireland.
He has already served as the first secretary of the diplomatic mission in Hong Kong besides north Asian and American departments of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
