Army’s Baniya, APF’s Koju shine at Kantipur Marathon

Kalyan Baniya of Nepal Army and Kanchi Maya Koju of Armed Police Force clinched title of the third edition of Kantipur Marathon held on the occasion of Kantipur Publication's 20th anniversary in the capital on Monday.

In the Men’s category, Baniya clocked 1 hour 25 seconds to complete 21.1 km race while in the Women’s section, Koji took 1 hour 25 minutes and 46 seconds. With the win, they both received Rs. 50,000 each.

Similarly, Krishna Basnet, Lettersingh Khatri, Hari Rimal, Raj Kumar Khatri and Hom Lal Shrestha came second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively in the men’s section while Bindra Shrestha, Krishneshwori Sintakala, Gita Khatri, Sonu Jayarai, Sarita Masi finished second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively in Women’s category.

The runner-up and second runner up in both the categories received Rs. 20,000 each while those securing fourth place got Rs. 10, 000 each. Likewise, the fifth and sixth winners bagged Rs. 5,000 and 3,000. Nepalnews.com
