One dead, eight injured after being struck by lightning

One person died and eight other suffered injuries after being struck by lightning in Nuwakot district on Monday.

Police have identified the deceased as Phurba Lama (53) of Thaprek. Lama was hit by a bolt when he was at one of his relatives’ house, according to reports.

The injured received treatment at a local health center. Another person who was critically injured, however, is currently undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.

The incident took place a day after five persons were killed in separate lightning-related incidents in Rupandehi and Makwanpur. nepalnews.com
