Nepalis to overseas job up by 14 pc
The number of Nepali aspirants leaving for overseas jobs has increased by
14.71 percent during the first seven months (between mid-July and
mid-February) of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last fiscal year.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), a total of
237,686 Nepali aspirants got permits for overseas employment during the period including 223,583 male and 14,103 female.
Similarly, 16,740 Nepalis took re-entry permission for foreign employment during the review period.
The number of aspirants also increased by 40.82 percent to 10,865 in the seventh month compared to the same period last year.
Malaysia stood at the top position, hiring 88,980 Nepali workers while Saudi Arabia hired 48,006, Qatar 40, 785 and United Arab Emirates 28,724 Nepalis during the review period. nepalnews.com |
