Chicken price records all-time high of Rs. 300 per kg
The price of chicken has reached an all time high of Rs. 300 per kg in the Kathmandu Valley following the detection of bird-flu in chicken farms in various parts of the capital which has drastically affected meat production.
The National Chicken Sellers Association (NCSA) has hiked the chicken price from Rs. 285 per kg effective from Tuesday while the price of live chicken has been hiked by 10 percent to Rs. 220 per kg.
The production of chicken has dropped by 30 percent due to avian influenza, according to president of NCSA Junga Bahadur BC. nepalnews.com
