Settle disputes through dialogue, not violence: NHRC
The National Human Rights Commission has said its serious attention has been drawn towards incidents of violence during the CPN-Maoist-enforced general strike yesterday.
The rights watchdog said that at least 17 vehicles, including that of the press, were vandalised by bandh enforcers in various parts of the country. The strike also affected students, who were due to sit for exams, the commission has said in a statement.
NHRC has called on all concerned to not to resort to violence to to settle disputes. Forms of protests such as a general strike cause pain to the people and do not help resolve disputes, the statement said. Nepalnews.com
