Separation of state power is uncompromisable: NC leaders
Over half a dozen Central Committee members of the Nepali Congress Party have called on the party leadership to not to compromise on the basic principles of separation of power when negotiation a way out of the current political crisis.
Part leaders such Sujata Koirala, N P Saud, Gyanendra Karki, Shanker Bhandari called on party President Sushil Koirala at his residence in Maharajgunj earlier on Thursday, and drawn the NC chief's attention towards the possible consequences of making unconstitutional changes to the way state power is distributed.
They have also suggested that Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi should be made to resign from his judicial post, before he takes up the executive role.
NC chief Koirala is learnt to have told the leaders that he would not go against the mandate of the party's central committee.
