Regmi should get reigns of govt without riders: Kamal Thapa

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal chief Kamal Thapa has said that CJ Khil Raj Regmi should be given the reigns of the election government without any per-conditions.

The RPP-N leader, who has been demanding that Nepal be declared a Hindu state, said that Regmi should be entrusted with all executive responsibilities within the next two-three days so that polls are possible within the first week of June.

"The President should invite all political parties represented in the dissolved CA to seek a solution to this crisis," said Thapa adding that a four-party agreement may not be acceptable to all political forces.

Dismissing arguments that making the CJ head of the executive will undermine the separation of power, Thapa said elections are a must in order to make this concept work.
He warned that his party would take to the streets if election is postponed once again.

Thapa also described the nine-point draft prepared by the four parties as a 'conspiracy' to institutionalise their 'syndicate'. "The biggest problem at the moment is their hesitation to go to the elections," said he, adding that 1990's constitution should be revived to resolve the political crisis if the elections are not not held in June. nepalnews.com
