Three arrested for staging protesting in front of CIAA

Three persons, who were staging protest in front of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against corruption in government bodies, were arrested by the police.

Sharada Jha, Shyam Lal Mahato and Sangeeta Thapa were arrested from in front of CIAA office at Tangal in Kathmandu at 9:30 am. They were preparing to launch indefinite hunger strike with 11-point demand.

They said they were forced to launch protest after the CIAA did not respond to a letter they had submitted one week earlier demanding strict measures to investigate corruption cases. Nepalnews.com
