Tomorrow is another day, four parties say after meet makes no headway

A meeting of the leaders of UCPN-Maoist, Nepal Congress (NC), CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has been postponed until tomorrow.

The meeting, which took place at the International Convention Centre, Baneshwor, decided to give some more time to the eight-member inter-party task force to finalise the details of a package agreement to form a poll mechanism under CJ Khil Raj Regmi, and hold fresh election in the first week of June.

The taskforce is to hold discussions throughout the day and report to the top leaders, said UCPN(M) Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha after the meeting.

Although the major political forces have agreed to form a government under Regmi, they are yet to sort out the details on forming such a government. Differences have surfaced among the parties on the formation of a truth commission and updating of voters' list, among others. nepalnews.com
