Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel has claimed that the proposal to form election government headed by the sitting Chief Justice originally came from the President, not the Maoists.
Speaking at a media gathering in his hometown Damauli, Tanahun district, on Saturday, Poudel said the Maoists are engaging in a publicity stunt on the idea that originated from the President's office. "The President had even questioned Prachanda why he publicised his proposal. This is very much the idea of the President."
The NC leader also said fresh Constituent Assembly elections are the only alternative to end the political uncertainty and that the major political forces should be ready for other mutually agreeable option if consensus on the CJ-led government does not evolve. Nepalnews.com
