Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital said in a statement that Shah, who is on life support ever since he was brought to the hospital, underwent endoscopy today.

"His condition remains very critical," added the hospital in its second statement since Shah was rushed to the Bangkok hospital on February 19.

His wife Himani Shah arrived in Bangkok on Friday evening and has been visiting him at the ICU, local media reports said.

The 41-year-old former crown prince suffered the stroke a day after his mother, the former queen Komal Shah, celebrated her 63rd birthday.

He had suffered his first stroke back in 2007 and had been treated at Norvic Hospital.

Shah who has courted controversy several times for his reckless driving, nightclub brawls and drinking outbursts, was reportedly living with another woman, first in Singapore and then in Thailand.

Reports quoting his close friends said he was suffering from depression before he suffered the stroke.

On October 2012, he was arrested in Thailand on charge of possessing marijuana and was released on bail. nepalnews.com
