Iran installs IR-2m centrifuges at Natanz enrichment plant Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereidoon Abbasi said Saturday that Iran installed 180 of IR-2m centrifuges at Natanz fuel enrichment plant.
Confirming the news about the installation of 180 IR-2m centrifuges in Natanz, Abbasi said that the number of machines which would be installed are more than this and the rest of them would be gradually installed, according to Press TV.
"The final count of these centrifuges will soon be given to the media," he was quoted as saying.
On Thursday, a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that Iran had started the installation of IR-2m centrifuges, a new model of Iran's centrifuges, which could significantly boost Iran's uranium capacity, at Natanz fuel enrichment plant.
Earlier in February, Abbasi said that the IR-2m centrifuges would be used for uranium enrichment below five percent and would not be used for 20-percent enrichment. Tehran (Xinhua)
