Three of a family killed in Jaljala

Three members of a family – an elderly woman and her two grandchildren – were murdered in Sankhuwasabha Monday night in what police said was an act inspired by robbery motive.

Police said Lakbuti Sherpa, 65, her grandson Dawa, 15, and granddaughter Apsara,9, were murdered in their house in Jaljala VDC Monday night. The murderers used sharp weapons to slit their throats, initial police investigation has revealed.

Based on the circumstantial evidence, police said the main motive behind the murder was robbery as the trunk and cupboard were broken. Police suspect that the murdered might have made off with the valuables.
