33 Nepali workers under EPS deported from Korea for using fake passports
Some thirty three Nepalis who reached South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) were arrested and deported to Nepal in 2012.
These Nepali workers were arrested by the Korean immigration officials and deported from the country after they were found using forged passports.
Among those arrested, 32 Nepali males were arrested from their respective companies in Ansan, Incheon, Suwan, Seoul and other Korean cities and towns and deported while only one woman was arrested and deported for overstaying. Media reports said they had been found using forged documents with wrong birth date. It is learnt that the Korean immigration found that most of them had been earlier arrested and deported from the country, but had returned again under the EPS system.
Although these 33 Nepali workers were arrested and deported for using forged documents by the Korean immigration, they however managed to evade arrest upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Nepalnews.com
