Anti-corruption activist's health worsens as fast-unto-death enters day six

Health condition of Sharada Bhusal of Mahottari who has been staging indefinite hunger strike since last six days at Shanti Batika in Kathmandu, demanding prompt investigation into corruption in local bodies, has further deteriorated.

Doctors, who examined her, on Thursday said that she had become quite frail and there might be a critical situation if she continued the hunger strike. She could barely speak to media persons who were there to interview her.

The government is yet to respond to her demands. Bhusal had along with two others tried to stage hunger strike in front of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) last week, demanding immediate probe into the corruption scandals in local bodies in Mahottari and other districts, but was forcefully removed by the police. nepalnews.com
