SC rejects contempt of court petition against CJ Regmi
The Supreme Court has a contempt of court petition against Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi, who has expressed willingness to lead a transitional government.
The petition prepared by advocate Sunil Ranjan Singh had said that Regmi expressed readiness to take charge of the government ignoring a crucial subjudice case at the apex court .
SC Assistant Registrar Nahakul Subedi said in a statement that the the CJ has not accepted the proposal to lead the executive organ of the state, and has been maintaining that he would respect any decision taken by the court.
Advocates Bharat Jangam and Om Prakash Aryal have writ petitions against the proposal to form a government under the CJ. The hearing on the petitions, which is to be conducted by a special bench of the court, has been slated for March 7. nepalnews.com
