No agreement yet on constitutional changes for CJ-led govt
A meeting of the taskforce of the four parties held on Thurdsday could not finalise the draft of consensus on the constitutional amendments to be made for an election government headed by the Chief Justice.
The meeting held at the office of the Army Integration Special Committee's secretariat at Naya Baneshwor saw differences between the members of the taskforce on the phrasing of the new constitutional provisions. However, the taskforce members did not divulge the details of their differences after the meeting.
The meeting also dwelt on other sticking points including the citizenship issue, voter list and the ranks to be given to the Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army when they get integrated upon completion of their training.
The top leaders of the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, UML and Madhesi Front are to meet tomorrow in a bid to finalise the draft of consensus. Nepalnews.com
