UNESCO calls for entries for heritage awards
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation has issued a call for entries for the 2013 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
The awards aim to recognise the achievements of private sector, and public-private initiatives in successfully restoring structures, places and properties of heritage value in the region, said the UN agency on its website.
According to UNESCO, the awards, established in 2000, have been given to 156 projects. From Nepal, the Namunaghar of Bhaktapur (2004) and the Ayuguthi Sattal of Patan (2005) have bagged the the Honourable Mention and the Award of Merit respectively.
The entries for the 2013 programme must be submitted with an official entry form, project description using provided official format, drawings and photographs in hard copy and on CD to UNESCO Bangkok by March 31, 2013, said the UN agency. Nepalnews.com
