Police nab 15 alleged drug smugglers including Danish man

A police team deployed from the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit (NDCLEU), Naya Baneshwor, has held 15 alleged drugs smugglers including a Danish national from various parts ofKathamndu within a month.

Sangabu Sherpa, 32, and Nima Sherpa, 19, of Sindhupalchowk were arrested with 93 gm and 40 gm of brown heroin respectively while Madan Kumar Bohora, 30, of Dadeldhura and Ram Bahadur Air, 39, of Kanchanpur held with 35 gm and 55 gm brown heroin respectively in a separate haul.

Similarly, Police arrested Rajan Acharya, 19, of Makawanpur with Ibuprofen and diazepam ampoule 1,700 pieces each while Sarita Gurung, 38, Bhairav Bhudhathoki, 29, of Sinamangal, Sambhu Majhi, 30, of Dhanusha with Ibuprofen and diazepam ampoule 72 pieces each.

Kamala Lama, 25, of Ramechhap, Prakriti Bhusal, 30, of Dhading and Dipika Acharya, 18, of Kathmandu were also arrested with Ibuprofen and diazepam ampoule 318 pieces each.

Likewise, the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit of Pokhara also held Amrit Bhujel and Bimal Gurung, 24, of Kaski with illegal narcotic drugs, recently.

The police have also nabbed Danish man Thomaas Olle Andersen with 3 kg of hashish from Thribhuwan International Airport. He was about to fly back to Denmark en-route to Doha via Qatar Airways, NDCLEU said. nepalnews.com
