Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that the costs of his trips to the districts to attend his party's programmes are borne by the party itself, not the government.
"The costs of the visits for party works are borne by the party, not the government. I have been maintaining this system from the very beginning," PM Bhattarai tweeted.
There were a number of tweets criticising his frequent helicopter flights to the districts to attend party programmes. Senior Maoist leaders accompanying him also used the same chopper.
PM Bhattarai flew to Rolpa, Gorkha, Pokhara, Taplejung and Dailekh districts within a matter of week to attend the UCPN (Maoist) district conventions. Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Deputy Prime Minister and vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha also attended these functions. Nepalnews.com
