FNCCI demands end to syndicate in transport sector
The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has demanded action against transporters who have been actively involved in illegal syndicate system in transport sector.
The apex body of business community also said that different forms of syndicates have been in practice in the country such as turn-wise, odd-even number plate, queue and token systems, which are against the government rule.
Syndicate system has adversely affected free and competitive business, FNCCI said in a press statement.
Despite frequent calls to the government to restrict syndicate and cartels in the transport sector it has not been able to control the illegal system, said the business body.
The FNCCI also said that the public portage vehicles should run their business in a competitive manner. Nepalnews.com
