Nepal-India Joint Committee meet on water resources concludes
The seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Committee on Water Resources concluded in Kathmandu on Friday.
The two-day meeting dwelt on the implementation of the projects including import of additional electricity from India, Nepal-India Power Purchase Agreement and building of cross border transmission line that were agreed by the sixth meeting held in New Delhi, India, two years ago.
India has also agreed to build Tanakpur-Mahendranagar link road as per Mahakali Treaty.
The meeting also discussed Pancheswor Multipurpose Project, establishment of Pancheswor Development Authority and Saptakoshi High Dam Multipurpose Project.
The meeting was led by energy secretary Hari Ram Koirala from Nepali side while secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources Dhruba Bijaya Singh had led the Indian delegation. Nepalnews.com
