SC stays Sthapit's ouster

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the government not to implement its decision to sack Keshav Sthapit as the head of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority until February 4.

A single bench of justice Girish Chandra Lal issued the stay order in response to Sthapit's writ in which he claimed he was removed illegally.

A cabinet meeting had on January 17 decided to oust him, citing his failure to carry out his duties satisfactorily.
