Swasthani Brata Katha from today
A month-long popular ritual of Shri Swasthani Brata Katha has started across the country today.
The ritual is dedicated to Goddess Shree Swasthani, a goddess believed to fulfill the wishes of her devotees.
Shri Swasthani is usually portrayed as a four-handed deity with Charka, Trishul, sword and lotus.
While offering their prayers to the goddess, men, women and children fast and take holy dips in local rivers. The Salinadi River which lies to the north of the Kathmandu Valley is famous among devotees observing the rituals. Nepalnews.com
