India gifts 20 ambulances to different organisations

The Indian government provided 20 ambulances and four buses to different organisations including some hospitals and educational institutions in 18 districts on Saturday.

The ambulances and buses were gifted on the 64th Republic Day of India. At a public function held at the Indian Embassy, ambassador Jayant Prasad presented 17 ambulances and four buses to recipient organisations from 15 districts.

The remaining three ambulances were gifted by Consul General of India at Birgunj to "organisations coming under the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Birgunj". Since 1994 Government of India has gifted 382 ambulances to various organisations across 70 districts in Nepal, the embassy said. nepalnews.com
