Wu Chuntai named new Chinese ambassador to Nepal

China has nominated Wu Chuntai as the new ambassador to Nepal after recalling ambassador Yang Houlan.

Wu is currently Deputy Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Houlan was recalled by Beijing this week, but the Foreign Ministry officials at Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they were clueless as to why he was recalled.
