Govt Secretary blames US, Chinese and Russian embassies of obstructing road-widening campaign in Ktm

A senior government official has blamed ‘Kathmandu-based embassies of few countries’ of creating obstructions in the government’s road-widening campaign in the Kathmandu Valley.

Krishna Hari Baskota, who is Secretary at the Prime Ministers’ Office (PMO), has said this is the main reason behind the delay seen in the crucial drive to widen the roads of the Valley and develop the capital city.

The Secretary complained about Kathmandu-based missions of U.S.A, China, Russia and Italy of refusing to demolish the perimeter walls of their embassies to make way for wider roads.

As the chief government official at the PMO, Baskota is currently tasked with the responsibility to oversee the road-widening campaign as well as smooth supply of drinking water in the Valley. Nepalnews.com
