UCPN (M) Baitadi convention concludes, clashes reported

UCPN (Maoist) party's Baitadi District convention concluded at the district headquarters today amid opposition protests.

Members of the opposition clashed with police and members of the ruling party through out the day demanding that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai resign.

Security had been beefed up in Baitadi district for Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and other leaders of UCPN (Maoist) who arrived in the district to participate in the district convention of the ruling party.

Security personnel were deployed in large numbers to avert any untoward incident during PM Bhattarai and Maoist leaders’s trip to the district where opposition parties imposed a day-long bandh. Nepalnews.com
