PM Bhattarai asks journalists displaced from Dailekh following Maoist threats to return to work

Facing national and international criticism for his party UCPN (Maoist)’s recent threats against journalists, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has requested dozens of journalists who were displaced from Dailekh over threats issued against their lives to return to their respective work area.

Speaking during the UCPN (M)’s district convention on Sunday, PM Bhattarai also assured that the government is ready to guarantee the security of media personnel and media houses.

He, however, took the opportunity to launch a blistering attack against the opposition parties, saying that CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress are obstructing attempts to forge consensus to end the current political impasse. Nepalnews.com
