NT extends WiMAX to Lumbini, Gandaki, Dhaulagiri

Nepal Telecom (NT) has extended Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) service in Lumbini, Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones.

NT has started the service from Sunday with an aim to provide high speed internet service in the area, said the Telecom.

In the first phase, the service will be available to the corporate houses including hospitals, educational institutions, financial institutions, diplomatic missions, non-government offices, among others.

The service will be available to the general public in the next phase, said NT.

Earlier, the wireless broadband internet service was extended in Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Chitwan and Makawanpur while NT had launched the service in Kathmandu on November 12, last year.

The company has also aimed to extend the service with the capacity of 200,000 subscribers across the country by 2013.

NT has also fixed the price at Rs. 2,900 per month for 32GB, Rs. 4,300 per month for 48 GB and Rs. 5,190 per month for 60 GB. Nepalnews.com
