DPM Shrestha admits govt's 'weakness' in Dekendra murder case

Deputy Prime Minister and UCPN (Maoist) vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha has admitted 'weakness' on the part of the government in handling Dekendra Thapa murder case, saying that the government is ready to correct it.

Addressing the inaugural function of UCPN (M)'s Dhankuta district convention Monday, Shrestha said there will be no intervention from the government in taking legal action against those involved in Thapa's murder. He also claimed that the government was committed to provide security to journalists.

Shrestha, however, made it a point to hit at the human rights groups for whipping up Dekendra murder and the arrest of Colonel Kumar Lama in the UK. "Such approach will only make things more complicated," he argued. nepalnews.com
